High Level of Innovation at the TUniCorn Idea Competition 2026
First Prize at the TUniCorn Idea Competition for Dr.-Ing. Marina Becker and Dr.-Ing. Maik Becker
We are pleased to announce that our members Dr.-Ing. Marina Becker and Dr.-Ing. Maik Becker have won first place at this year’s TUniCorn Idea Competition at Clausthal University of Technology.
Their project “QuinAir” impressed the jury with an innovative approach to seasonal energy storage. The concept combines elements of redox-flow and metal-air battery technologies to create a novel air redox-flow battery system. The goal of the project is to develop a cost-efficient energy storage solution with high energy density that could enable seasonal storage of solar energy.
The TUniCorn Idea Competition is organized annually by the start-up service of Clausthal University of Technology together with regional partners and aims to promote innovative start-up ideas emerging from science and research.
We warmly congratulate Dr.-Ing. Marina Becker and Dr.-Ing. Maik Becker on this outstanding achievement and look forward to seeing the future development of their project.
