Leuna_C1 Site Visit
The ICVT visited the Leuna_C1 site as part of the XXII annual PhD conference.
As part of our recent activities, our group visited the Leuna chemical site, gaining valuable insights into Germany’s industrial innovation landscape.
During the excursion, we had the opportunity to visit Linde, C1 Green Chemicals, and the Hydrogen Lab Leuna at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES). The visit offered a close look at ongoing developments in hydrogen technologies and sustainable chemical production.
A highlight of the tour was learning about the Leuna 100 project, in which C1 (project coordinator) and Fraunhofer IWES, together with their partners, are working to develop a coupled process chain of innovative technologies for cost-efficient and scalable e-methanol production.
We thank our hosts for their warm welcome and for sharing their expertise and vision toward a sustainable chemical industry.
